Project: "My favourite scientist"

Those students, who wants to improve their marks, should prepare a presentation showing who is his/her favourite scientist.  The project must have an english part and a spanish part. The english part should contain the following information:
 - My favourite scientist is __________________
 - He/ She was born in (date), in  (name of the city)
 - He/ She had (number of brothers or sisters)
 - His/her father was a (job), his/her mother was a (job)
 - This scientist studied maths/biology/chemistry .......

You can add any other information in english you find interesting.

En la parte en español debéis explicar cuáles fueron sus logros científicos, y sus aportaciones a la ciencia.  No olvidéis incluir alguna curiosidad que os haya llamado la atención sobre el personaje que hayáis elegido.
No olvidéis que el formato debe ser compatible con la pizarra digital, así que os recomiendo guardarlo en pdf.

CAMPUS CIENTÍFICO

Un año más el MEC lanza la convocatoria de campus científicos para los alumnos de la modalidad de ciencias que están cursando 4º ESO o 1º Bachillerato.  Si tu nota media del curso anterior es igual o superior a 8 puntos y has nacido con posterioridad al 31 de diciembre de 1999, no dejes pasar esta oportunidad y solicita tu beca.  Así podrás pasar una semana en el mes de julio en alguna de las universidades españolas participando en un proyecto de investigación.  El plazo de solicitud finaliza el próximo 24 de marzo.  En el siguiente enlace tenéis toda la información: campus científico

You have to prepare a power point about an invertebrate and show it to the class.  The exposition will have an english and a spanish part. This is an individual or pair task, but if you work in groups of two, each student should speak a bit in english and a bit in spanish. The Element Project

This is an individual or a pair task for the students of 3ºESO.  You have to choose one of the elements of the periodic table, and do a little speech about it.  There are more than 100 elements, so everyone must choose a different one, that means, that you are not allowed to repeat the same element.  Please do not take the strangest ones, otherwise it would be really difficult to find information.

You should include the following information in your exposition:

a) Introduce the element, telling the chemical name and the chemical formula 
b) The origin of the element's name
c) The date when the element was discovered 
d) The name of the discoverer of the element 
e) The atomic mass and atomic number of the element
f) The period and the group the element belongs to
g) Interesting properties and uses of the element

If you want, you can add any other interesting information.  Try to do your best and good luck.

En el programa Aula Fuengirola emitido el 10 de Noviembre, podéis ver un pequeño reportaje sobre como fue nuestra estancia en Villardeciervos.  Algunos de los alumnos participantes relataron las experiencias que más les han marcado durante la semana vidida por tierras zamoranas.  Esperamos que os guste.
